HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU REALLY GET A HAIRCUT?
Denis Kovač · Jan 15, 2026

"How often should I come in?" is the question we hear most in the chair. The honest answer: it depends on your cut. Here's the schedule we recommend for each style.
Fades And Skin Tapers: Every 2–3 Weeks
Short cuts show growth fastest. A skin fade loses its gradient within two weeks, and by week three the shape is gone. If you want to look freshly cut most of the time, three weeks is your ceiling.
Classic Cuts: Every 4–5 Weeks
Scissor cuts, crops, and side parts are more forgiving. The structure holds as the hair grows, so you can stretch a month before the cut loses its lines. Book at four weeks if you like it tight, five if you prefer a lived-in look.
Longer Styles: Every 6–8 Weeks
Growing it out doesn't mean skipping the barber. Regular shape-ups keep length looking intentional instead of neglected — trimming weight, cleaning the neckline, and keeping ends healthy. Six to eight weeks keeps the grow-out on track.
Beards: Every 2–4 Weeks
A beard trim is quicker than a haircut but matters just as much. Two to three weeks keeps a sharp, defined shape; four works if your beard grows slow or you wear it fuller.
The Simple Rule
Book your next visit before you leave the shop. The best-groomed clients aren't the ones who cut most often — they're the ones who never let the cut fully grow out.
